1. Introduction

jobaye ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies when you use our Platform, mobile or web applications, or any related services.

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service.

  • Resume / CV files you upload
  • Skills, work experience, education, and projects
  • Job applications, posts, comments, and messages
  • Information about companies you create or manage

2.2 Automatically Collected

  • Crash reports and performance data (to improve the Platform)

2.3 Third-Party Sign-In

If you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. We do not access your contacts, calendar, files, or any other Google data.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
  • Match you with relevant job opportunities and recommended content
  • Enable employers to view your application materials when you apply
  • Send transactional notifications (account, security, application updates)
  • Improve features, performance, and user experience
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Review and moderate posts and content for compliance with our Terms
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
  • Communicate with you about updates, changes, or important notices

4. Public Content Notice

Information you choose to make public — including profile details, posts, job listings, comments, projects, and shareable profile links — may be visible to other users and, in some cases, publicly accessible on the internet.

Please exercise caution when sharing personal or sensitive information. Once content is made public, it may be cached, archived, or copied by third parties beyond our control.

5. How We Share Your Information

5.1 With Employers When You Apply

When you apply for a job, your application details — including your profile information, resume, and any additional information you provide — are shared directly with the employer or recruiter who posted the role. We are not responsible for how employers store, use, or process your data once it has been shared with them. Please review an employer's privacy practices before applying.

5.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform — including hosting (Railway, Vercel), content delivery (Bunny CDN), email delivery (AWS SES), authentication (Google Firebase Auth), and analytics. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services we contract them to provide.

5.3 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.

5.4 Legal Disclosure

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or governmental request, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, prevent fraud, ensure user safety, or investigate violations of our Terms.

5.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you and provide options where required by law.

6. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, services, or external job postings. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of these external sites. When you leave the Platform via an external link, your interaction with that site is governed by its own privacy policy and terms.

7. Data Storage and Transfer

Your data may be stored, processed, and transferred outside India by our service providers. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any international transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS / TLS
  • Industry-standard hashing for stored passwords (bcrypt) — passwords are never stored in plain text
  • Secure file storage on Bunny CDN with restricted access
  • JWT-based authentication with httpOnly refresh cookies
  • Rate limiting and bot protection on sensitive endpoints
  • Regular security review and access controls for our systems

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information using commercially reasonable means, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

9. Data Retention

  • Active accounts: retained while your account remains active
  • Deleted accounts: personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law
  • Job application records: retained for up to 2 years after the application or last activity, for fraud prevention and dispute resolution
  • Backups: may persist for a limited period after deletion as part of disaster-recovery cycles

10. Cookies

We use cookies strictly for authentication and essential Platform functionality (for example, keeping you signed in via httpOnly refresh tokens, and remembering your session). We do not use cookies for behavioural advertising, and we do not allow third-party advertising trackers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent core features (such as staying signed in) from working.

11. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access and review the personal information we hold about you
  • Update or correct inaccurate or incomplete information from your profile settings
  • Delete your account and associated personal data
  • Control which sections of your profile are publicly visible via privacy settings
  • Withdraw consent for data processing where processing is based on consent
  • Object to certain types of processing or request data portability, where applicable
  • File a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@coderzon.com. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.

12. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@coderzon.com and we will take steps to delete it.

13. Grievance Officer

In compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules thereunder, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address user complaints regarding privacy or data handling. Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days from the date of receipt.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
